We are a broad-based coalition of businesses and NGOs who want to expand access to computer science education in K-12 classrooms across America.
The Computer Science Education Coalition is urging Congress to provide $250 million in federal funding for K-12 computer science education this fiscal year to help fill critical U.S. jobs and ensure America remains globally competitive for generations to come. The federal funds will complement the exemplary work already being undertaken in states across the country.
The Computer Science Education Coalition is a nonprofit organization comprised of businesses and NGOs focused on securing federal funds that will provide computer science education to all K-12 students. It is our vision that all American students will possess computer science skills so that they can compete in the global economy.
Erin Siefring, Chair of the Computer Science Education Coalition, has spent over a decade working on and around Capitol Hill. As a former legislative director for a member of the U.S. House of Representatives, Erin has drafted legislation and formulated and executed strategies that have led to bill passage. Erin has also worked at the Heritage Foundation as Director of House Relations, where she formulated strategies to advance conservative legislation in the House of Representatives. When Heritage Action for America (HAFA) was formed, she was selected to join them as their Chief House Lobbyist. While at HAFA, Erin played a key role in promoting conservative policies on Capitol Hill by advising members of the House and their staff, identifying and promoting conservative legislation for grassroots support, and building coalitions around policy initiatives. Most recently, Erin was Chief of Staff for a member of the House of Representatives. In that role, she was responsible for supervising a staff of 12, developing and overseeing the member’s policy and legislative agenda and office budget of over $1 million and represented the member in speaking engagements. Erin is currently President of Hilltop Advocacy, LLC.
